For a couple of months during early 2015, I was Artist In Residence at Oriel Wrecsam, documenting and archiving the gallery before it moved out of its current location and into a temporary off-site phase. I took a whole load of photos, videos, sound recordings, responded to the final exhibition there (DATAMOSH), and then for the final leaving party I did two things:
1. Curated an exhibition of empty frames that had been kept in storage and used for the annual print exhibition. The variations in size, discolouration and backing board created a fascinating experience. Their apparent emptiness was also a metaphor for the building itself.
2. Constructed a model of the building out of spare parquet floor tiles used for repairing the gallery floor. Skylights were constructed from flyers advertising the gallery.
